Getting Involved with Bellarmine Radio
Monday, November 22, 2010 at 1:00PM So you've listend to Bellarmine Radio for a while now, and you've been thinking to yourself, "These specialty shows are great! I'd love to DJ a show about _____." Well, we'd love to have you!
There are two ways to get involved with Bellarmine Radio. The first is to sign up for COMM 180: Broadcasting Lab. It's a one-credit class that meets Wednesdays from 4:30-5:30. There's always room for more students, and it'll look great on your resume, too! In the class, you'll work on projects that teach you how to use sound-recording software, such as Audacity, how to interview guests, record audio off-site, and how to host your own radio show! It's a lot of fun, and the best way to get to know everyone who works with the radio.
Don't have room to take the class in the Spring? No problem, you can also get on the air by completing the Bellarmine Radio Training Module. The training module consists of all the projects from the Broadcasting Lab course, boiled down into one convenient package. You can work on the projects at your own pace, and help is always around the corner if you need it.
Once you've completed the course or the training module, you can apply to host a show by clicking on the link to the right entitled, "DJ/Show Application". Read the questions carefully, and be as detailed as possible when describing your idea for a radio show! Be sure to tell us when you are available, and note that if you can do a show in the afternoon, you'll have a better shot at getting on the air faster!
We're always adding new DJs and specialty shows to our line-up, so it's the perfect time to hop on board! You can email us with any questions via the "Contact" link at the top-right of this page.
We're looking forward to adding you to the team!
